I expect RMS is horrified by this article. It trivialises his key motivation - fighting for freedom - and focuses on superficial personal traits. It's true that RMS can be uncompromising: when I interviewed him for my book Rebel Code some years back, he had the disconcerting habit of criticising my questions in depth before answering them (but his criticisms were always justified). However, it is precisely this refusal to compromise that has got the free software movement where it is today. |
