Are they corrupt or simply incompetent?

None of the anti-virus or security companies found this rootkit, in spite of the fact that it has been known for decades that a virus can enter a system through an infected disc. If the AV companies could not find this then they are incompetent and unworthy of their pay.

If they deliberately ignored this rootkit and allowed it through in order to satisfy Sony, then they are not working for the customer who is buying their product but for some one else. This makes them corrupt.

In either case their products should be regarded with great suspicion.

The issue of who truly controls my computer is what drove me to Linux. It remains the central issue in so many of our discussions.
