That's it - the so-called main stream media isn't doing it - so the internet is it.

It's really amazing. Not that I listen to conservative comentators like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage or any of those guys, but I know someone who does. The main point that Hannity keeps making: major media doesn't cover conservative news. So, the conservatives have gone to talk-radio and the Internet. Of course, we hear the same thing from liberal commentators. Mainstream media doesn't cover the important events - so they use the Internet and some talk-shows.

I agree with the conservatives about the main stream media not covering anything related to their agenda. On the other side, we don't see enough about the environment, the lack of social services, the homeless, poor, starvation in the US.

So what do these bozos cover. Hollywood, sports, Angelina and Brad, Oprah, etc. The big story on the front page of the Dallas News this morning was a huge spread on the upset of the Indianapolis Colts. A big color picture of Payton Manning with his head down.

I guess nothing else is happening in the world of interest. Is it the stupidity of the average subscriber or the failure of media management?

I think the latter.

Tom-

I completely agree with your assessment. I subscribe to the Columbus(Ohio) Dispatch and they are just as lacking in technology news as most major media outlets. They have a "Technology" section on Mondays and it's nothin but a glorified Best Buy(insert local media/MS store here) ad. If you were to drop from the sky and read the Dispatch's tech section, you would think the only technology that existed would be video games and cell phones. I used to blame it on our location (you know, the midwest, the "fly over" zone between San Fran and Boston/New York) But since we have many good tech firms in Columbus and Ohio and the Ohio LInux Fest is kickin ass, I just blame it on stupid editors. similar to your at the News.

mcsteen: When I was with Cap Gemini US, our biggest offices were in Columbus/Dayton. We did a ton of business up there with a lot of tech firms. NCR isn't the only one either.
