I liked the article and thought it was fair. The insight about trusting your data to online providers is the crux of the issue. Is the data safe? Is it backed up? Will it be misused? Is it available all the time? Can I move it somewhere else if I want, when I want? Those are the issues that will make or break any web service. It is a great idea and I think the future of applications, but the trust issues have to be overcome. |
