The link seems not to work but I'll comment on the title. MySQL is as well of as it ever was with the current situation. MySQL is OSS. InnoDB is OSS. It's MySQL AB that is scrambling to find another engine on which they can either take out a proprietary license or which has a license that allows them to put their own proprietary license on it to facilitate their business model. I do wish journalists would distinguish between MySQL the software and MySQL AB the company that makes its money selling proprietary licenses. I'm a PostgreSQL fan, myself, though. :-) |
