Only news worthy if you run a Linux web server, using certain software, and haven't updated it in a long, long time ........... There are some of them out there, but the people running them probably do not even read the news. A worm or virus in Linux is news, but this one only affects a few neglected web servers. And has been spun completely out of proportion by M$ supporters. |

Ahh, It's just the desire of the Win people wanting to share the bounty. |

It's not a Linux worm, it's a PHP worm. Which means it's a potential threat to oh, what, 2% of Linux users? |

It used a central distribution point, identified by IP address. The 4 or 5 hits my basement server has gotten from this worm lead me to believe that 2 central distribution point IP addresses existed. Neither one worked when my server got hits. This is equivalent to release of "BAGLE.FF" or some minor blip. Something is wrong about all the media attention this has gotten. |
