ILHD - Sensible or Silly?

So they ship hard-drives with GNU/Linux ISO files. I wonder what the benefit is.

304 ISO files, that become incredibly obsolete within a time-frame of 6 months (bar Debian stable). 304 ISO files means no time to try them all before they are superseded with their successor versions.Since development is still going at breakneck pace on GNU/Linux, an old ISO is no fun feature wise.

Instead of getting an ILHD drive, getting a decent Internet connection makes more sense to me...
