The link contains a string q=http://http://www.information... Removing the first http:// fixes the link. |

Good eye...now who's job is it? The readers? |

Yes. It's the readers job. Just like it's the users job to stop viruses, spyware and exploits. And the reader should pay plenty of money for tools to fix such links. Also, the advertiser should still have to pay for all those clicks to adsense because they got the clicks and it's too bad it wound up at Microsoft. One of the next wave of exploits will be to turn those html fixing tools into cracker scripts which will allow people to mess up the entire Google ecosystem, thus saving Microsoft once again from walking off the cliff of busines failure. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. That is, if I can get this mouse out of my hand. OK who put the super glue on the mouse? |

the responsibility lies with Google, it's there program they should know what's posted before the public is 'misdirected' |

Yes. It's the readers job. OK...since the majority of computer users are windows zomb...I mean Windows Users, they don't even know how to defrag their own tangled hard drives. Expecting them to check the source page and cross examine the url link is pretty much out of the question. If Pat hadn't nailed it, how long do you think it would have went on before someone notified informationweek.com of the messup. I do agree, their mistake...they pay and that's what google is gonna tell them anyway. My point is this: Why does it default to MS? That's just wrong man...wrong. btw, use nail polish remover, That's what I use on my other victims for the superglue. helios |
