Quoting:to discuss how using unlicensed, open-source software ...

How does it help to call Linux "open source" rather than "free" software, where the latter is more accurate? Moreover, what is one to make of the term "unlicensed" software when as has been noted here many times GPL is quite restrictive. That is, you are free to use it as you see fit, however, you are obligated to share any improvements that are in your distributed product so that others may do same. Even a BSD license: steal as much code as you want as long as you give us credit.

These are "friendly articles, but they are too loose on the facts, which long term could do harm.

Txt: Interesting points.

Have you ever heard the cliche - I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right?

A writer from Red Herring once write me and said that. I didn't spell his name correctly on purpose.
