Howdy, Buffalo is a nice distribution which I keep on a laptop. I was shocked when I say in the first paragraph that Buffalo was Debian based. I am not against Debian at all. My main computers run Ubuntu, which is Debian based. It is just that Buffalo had alway been so proud to be a lean Slackware based disto. And it turns out they still are. The author made a mistake. It is such a basic mistake that it brings the whole review into question fo me. The author even admitted his error in the discussion atLinux.com, and then said Buffalo still should have used dpkg as its package handler. So, does he criticize Apple for not running DOS programs, or what next. I say try Buffalo, but forget this review. |
