both are good- so when can we boot to a CD?

It's a good tutorial. I prefer GRUB, though either one runs rings around the winduhs and solaris bootloaders. There is still one feature missing: the ability to boot to a CD. I would love to see this as an option in a GRUB boot menu. |

Have you taken a look at GAG? (http://gag.sourceforge.net/) It is a nice graphical bootloader (but no mouse support), fully GPL, and can boot from about any OS in existence, and from a CD. The nice part about it is that you can install it on a floppy first, to try it out. But it would be nice indeed if GRUB had that option (no need to quickly push F12 to get that BIOS menu while you don't see anything because the monitor hasn't yet woken up from its slumber...). |
