It might alter (damage?) the market by reducing the pointless rubbish that people charge for, whilst resulting in people paying for specialist things they actually need. Like any products if you want something better you often pay more so people will no doubt still pay for things if they see it as worth while. Just seems to set the threshold of what people expect for their money that bit higher. Seems like a good thing. |

Before some of my esteemed patriots go for the Wizard's throat, let me get his back on this one. Small business accounting software. That's the stickler for Linux. Finally, there is a reliable, portable, scaleable and dependable app for us business owners that need to import our QuickBooks data to Linux. It is not free, nor is it open source, however I find it doubtful that an open source developer would keep up with the banking and tax updates that Appgen does. We can only expect so much from our guys...massive quarterly updates should not be one of them. Not when possibly millions are going to depend on them for their business to stay afloat. I pay for this type of software. Chances are, it will always be there when I need it...THAT's what I pay for. helios |
