Helios, I know your type! Yes, though you profess to be a unique individual and indeed display some delightfully unique characteristics, the "guy who drives 20 miles out of his way to save 5 bucks on a video card" should be classified as a distinct species. True stories: 1. I had a customer who purchased truckload lots of junk computers at auction for next to nothing, then spent zillions on me getting the damn things to work. Buying new would have saved him considerable $$$. But he was happy, 'cause by gosh he saved all that money. 2. Friends in my LUG who made lengthy pilgrimages to Fry's to get $2 widgets on sale for $1. Then returned them, sometimes more than once, to get ones that worked. Money saved: $1. Gas used: $40. Hours wasted: Many. Personal satisfaction: priceless. 3. And let's not get started on Ebay addicts..... |
