how ? Well lets take a little moment to think. Office 12 have nearly zero new things to offer a customer. The same whith Longhorn. Companys finds it less and less attractive to spend lots off money on these overprized products (compare to OSS - Free/zero/zip/null/0/noll). If less and less people bye there things they have to cut down there business. |

Have you seen the poster adds for MS office lately? I'm still trying to figure out the point MS is trying to make with these adds. The ones I'm talking about usually show one or two people wearing plastic dinosaur heads and saying something pretty dumb. The tag line is always "Microsoft Office has evolved, have you?" Is MS marketing saying that everyone who uses office is a dinosaur? Are they saying everyone that uses office is a stupid dufus that would wear a plastic dinosaur head at work? Are they telling all MS Office users its time to move from the cretaceous to the jurassic period? I just don't get the message. Wouldn't more effective marketing be something along the lines of "How do you make the #1 selling office suite even better? upgrade to the new version!" That's good marketing because being the best selling is not the same as being the best. Are McDonald's Hamburgers the best hamburgers you've ever tasted? no, but they are the best selling hamburgers you've ever tasted. Instead they're equating their customers with dinosaurs and saying (in their most plankton-like voice) "Hey you extinct pea-brained fossils. Get your tails in gear and upgrade when we tell you to! Your tiny little saurian minds are too dim to figure out we need a massive injection of your money for no good reason whatsoever. Do as we command, or you might get hit with a meteor. |
