OK...I am a writing hack, self-revelation can be so liberating. That being said and probably acknowledged with gusto across this forum, I gotta say: not only was this article short, it was a bit misleading. While it did point me to a couple of software offerings of interest, one link took me to a download page with nothing but windows and mac offerings. Let me check my SuperKaramba "insanity" monitor here....yep, my suspicions are confirmed... I'm running the Linux Kernel and a further check of my hard drives indicates that there is not a Windows partition or installation active on this machine. So why is a link to Alien software placed in a Linux-based article? Will somebody pencil in some time to administer the proper beatings? The below snip contains the offending link:

There is a lot of potential here for the development of open source audio and video editing software, and the community could really use the help of experienced artists - not just programmers - to provide feedback to the programmers.
