XGI gets it, VIA doesn't (at least, not yet)

XGI simply handed a copy of the sources to XFree86 and X.org instead of messing around on their own. It's also worth noting that XGI released the source for their 2D stuff within a couple of months of going to market, but VIA and before them S3 have been in the market "forever" and never before released anything serious. Now all I have to do is find a WestOz dealer for their cards. |

Isn't XGI Sis and Trident thrown together? And isn't the XGI driver Thomas Winnishofer's sis driver that's been adapted to suit some new versions of, well, pretty much the same hardware? |
