Between all the coverage and spin of the story about the hatred and loathing between Linus and Tridge, and the kernel drifting helpless without an SCM, and now this 'rift' that threatens us all, it seems that FOSS is like a house on fire. The whole idea must have been a big mistake. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! ;-) |

Tuxchick, Make sure you include enough ammo to shoot the lawyers you send, plus the other's side. |

No, send a sense of humour. The perennial social life-ring. Tridge wound up with about thirty bikes in his garage after LCA2005, and was able to laugh whole-heartedly at the suggestion that he release a package for managing them all and name it "BikeKeeper". If we all had as big a heart, FOSS would have dominated the world a decade ago, and the only thing which could have slowed it down is people like Opera's CEO (that is, if he follows up and does go for his swim). |

Ye Gads! We haven't even had a chance to deal with "The Scourge of The Rift" and now the Linux Kernel is a on the road to ruin! Heise Online says so! (Note: This is a *different* certain doom than the others that have been reported.) It has something to do with some sort of flaw in "the Open Source tool Bugzilla that detects bugs and provides communication between developers". I would not believe any of this except that it is Andrew Morton himself who is saying so! (And Heise wouldn't lie.) If only they had used a proprietary tool to "detect bugs and provide communication between developers" we would not be in this pickle! Oh, Lord above! Have mercy on our souls! |
