* On Linux, Firefox now follows GTK's setting for textbox keybindings, so pressing Ctrl+letters triggers application shortcuts instead of readline-like text-editing shortcuts. For details, see this document.

Does it mean that Ctl-T no longer creates a new tab or is simply that in a textbox where one can insert text the emacs key stroke meanings take over? If it's the latter, it is of very little importance to me - if it's the former I can only wonder who thought this to be a needed, brilliant change!

My default editor is xemacs on Linux as it was when I was using Unix on an assignment, but most of the emacs short cuts are not to my taste when dealing with text. I always found other easier (for me) methods.

Please tell me I am a worry wort!
