This reminds me of the old Aesop's fable about the dog carrying a bone across over a bridge crossing a stream. He sees his reflection in the water, and thinking there is another bone snaps at the reflection, and of course loses his bone and is left with nothing. Sun wants everything its way: control of the code, take away market share from Linux, the love of the F/OSS community, and most of all a horde of eager new F/OSS developers to support Solaris to make it kewl and more better. I don't think it's going to happen that way. |

I think the moral was: "Greedy Greedy Makes a Hungry Puppy." We used to read that book to my son all the time. Maybe someone should read it to your Sun? What do you think? |

As has been said before... Sun want to be Microsoft. I've had some limited dealings with Sun and I don't like them. Arrogant, dismissive and as far up the corporate rear end as they can get. Gravely mistaken in the assumption that what the world needs now is yet another global behemoth with no customer skills and a crap attitude. The sun is setting from where I'm standing. |
