Once again, Sun is missing the point. Open source is not just about seeing the code or being involved in a community process for deciding what gets implemented. It is about the code being out there for all to fix. If you have ever tried to run Java2 1.3 on a Linux box with a 2.6 kernel, you know what I mean. There is a bug in the libcwait library that Java2 1.3 uses, and even though fixes have been published and documented by the community, it will never get added to that version of Java. Sun refuses. Hence, the difference between open and not open.

mojavelinux. Good point head on over to Groklaw and if you do not have an account make one. PJ is soliciting input to the final questions to Schwartz. so you have a chance to maybe add to the technical quality of what will be asked.

the normal thread is here http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=2004111902223492 but if you are logged in, the top story now is a Members only section to recommend the final question.
