It seems MS message of non-ethical business practices and leveraging of a monopoly is a lesson so well learned that it gets applied in inappropriate places. Should RH become so arrogant that it thinks it rules part of the world OS space, the cost of changing to an opposing vendor will never be as large as it seems to be regarding the variety of MS OS's.

I am somewhat bemused by the high regard SuSE was held prior to being acquired by Novell. Red Hat employed developers that seemed almost entirely occupied coding and maintaining free software whereas the former was not even open about its superior updating tool. Moreover, I do not think SuSE was part of any free/open software development when it was independent. [Other than the Linux kernel where it had no choice.]

The potential for Red Hat to become an abusive force is overplayed and in hindsight some may regret its absence if it is annihilated by the larger entities that have sworn their true love of FOSS.
