Anyone know how the SUN JDS effort is going? We had a flurry of press releases and wins a while back then nothing. |

It's going pretty well in the enterprise space. It hasn't had the impact in the consumer space. Partly because Sun has not geared up for the consumer market. Engineering wise, they have improved support. The next version will be based on SLES 9 and will include more drivers and the 2.6 kernel. Sun did some reorganization and a new team is in place with a large sales force. Also, a major focus on Linux exists at Sun in a group called Desktop and Mobility. |
