I don't know, this is really not a new concept. Any sysadmin worth his salt already assumes that the network is not safe and does what ever is possible to lock down each server (close ports, turn off deamons, run a packet filter, good passwords, software updates etc.)

As for the windows boxes... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! (wipes tears of mirth from face)

Well, you can click on the "protect my computer check box and set your internet zone to "breaks active X" but really your ass is still hanging out in the wind.

One of the zone alarm type personal firewalls can help but unfortunatly I find that people get so tired of it asking them if things can run they end up just clicking "allow" without even reading and understanding what they are allowing.
