"I'd sell my computer before I'd sell my children. But the kids better watch their step. When have the children helped me meet a deadline? When has the computer dragged in a dead cat it found in the back yard?"

Besides an incredible stroll down Memory Lane, it contains some good lessons regarding the dangers of non-commodity tech and proprietary OS's. It was two years before the FSF was founded, and vendor lock-in was nearly always the rule. How little we knew. (And look at those prices!)
