We've informed you yesterday, March 15th, about a fake operating system based on the Ubuntu OS and the MATE desktop environment, called Anonymous-OS. Based on Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot), the Anonymous-OS Live CD was designed to be a Linux distribution packed with "hacking" tools for "checking the security of web pages".

It's creators were pretending to be part of the famous Anonymous cult. Wrong! The legit members of Anonymous warned people, via their Twitter channel, that the Anonymous-OS is fake and it is wrapped in trojans.

"Seeing lots of news about just-released purported "Anonymous OS." BE CAREFUL! Remember the Zeus Trojan incident w/Slowloris recently!" - said Anonymous on Twitter.

Therefore, we're reporting today, March 16th, that the popular SourceForge hosting site took action and closed the project page of the Anonymous-OS Live CD, removing the downloads from their servers.
