Pentaho Shows Off "Cool Business Intelligence" at TDWI World Conference
The Data Warehousing Institute World Conference, New Orleans, LA – Nov. 3, 2008 – Pentaho, the commercial open source alternative for business intelligence (BI), will join other business intelligence industry leaders to discuss the latest industry innovations that allow BI to reach more users. Lance Walter, vice president of marketing for Pentaho, will represent open source business intelligence during the TDWI session entitled, “Cool BI: The Latest Innovations,” led by Cindi Howson, founder of BIScorecard, at this year’s TDWI World Conference in New Orleans on Nov. 4 from 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition to the Cool BI panel, Pentaho and BeyeNetwork will co-host two webcasts from the TDWI World Conference show floor. The first, at noon on Nov. 4, will be an interview with Jared Cornelius, product marketing manager at Pentaho. This Q&A session will cover how the latest release of the Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition delivers on the commercial open source promise of a fully supported, enterprise-class solution at a dramatically lower total cost of ownership. The second podcast, at 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, will be an interview with Richard Daley, founder and CEO of Pentaho. The Latest Innovations” Panel: BI tools often are perceived as being tools for power users and analysts. BI has changed significantly in recent years, bringing the vision of "BI for everyone" closer to reality. This course will review some of the latest industry innovations that will allow BI to reach more users, based on the right tool for the right person. Topics covered include BI Search, Office integration, rich reportlets (flash, ajax), mobile, advanced visualization, dashboards, in-memory analytics, mash-ups, SaaS, and open source BI tools.
